My 6.6 Duramax motors camshaft snapped and I needed a motor rebuild so I took it to the owner Vinnie. We both decided for my "forever truck" he would replace the entire engine and most of the components under the hood. They had the truck for about 4 months. I paid and picked up the truck and had nothing but problems. Rear main seal leak, boost leaks, exhaust manifolds warping, turbo failure and replacement, exhaust manifolds leaking, error codes and check engine light. I took the truck back to the shop about 4 times having to stay in hotels because I live in the camper on the back of the truck plus I live 750 miles away. Vinnie was very helpful but was adamant that he could not go over the warranty period even though during the warranty period the truck was not operational most of the time. Vinnie did his best to rectify the many issues but I feel he should have extended the 1yr warranty because the warranty period should have begun once the truck was fully repaired correctly. The cost of the engine replacement was similar to a down payment on a house and I am out tens of thousands of dollars and a truck I'm nervous to drive because of the many issues that happened right after full engine replacement by a so called expert who was meant to address every issue vs having a truck that continuously breaks down. My truck is a Chevy Kodiak and every time I need to get it towed it costs $2000-$3000 because of its size. I'm extremely unhappy and frustrated with the entire transaction.

Check Engine Light was on and it was Smog time for my Ram 2500 Cummins Diesel. Cal Coast diagnosed the issues and worked with my Extended Warranty company to resolve the issues. Donita and team were very attentive to communicating, repairing, and getting me back on the road! Will definitely go back should something require servicing.

This was my first time in. The staff was excellent to deal with. I have a coolant leak on my motorhome a week before leaving on a big trip. They were able to take me in the day after I called. The work was completed that day. I will use them again.

Donita was great with the NOx sensors and DPF sensor issue. The shop had a small business feel where the service was direct, personal, and handled with care. She kept the details clear, stayed on top of the information, and made the process feel easy to follow. We took our 2006 Ford F350 dually diesel truck in to be diagnosed after finding out that diesel fluid was leaking into the coolant system. Vinny and his team did a very thorough evaluation of the truck. The estimate given was broken down into three parts: green - no need for work; yellow - needs to be done soon; and red - urgent. Each section had the a detailed description and for yellow and red a breakdown of cost by parts and labor. Unfortunately for us, the repairs needed were more than the truck was worth. At no time did we feel any pressure to do the work. In fact, Donita, the awesome office manager helped us through all our options. When we came to empty our truck out, the team went over and above to make the process easier. Highly recommend this family owned business for anyone who has a diesel vehicle that needs work - including drivable RVs.

The entire staff at Cal Coast is superb! Brought my truck in for repairs that I knew were needed, not anticipating that I would have additional work that should be done, all prior to leaving on a trip out of state. California Coast Truck Repair has become my go to place for chasis service and repair of our diesel pusher class a motorhome. I first discovered them when my dash air conditioning had quit working. The repair required them to completely remove the massive dash to gain access to the system components. I was very scared that they might not get it back together right. I was completely satisfied with the outcome. Due to that experience Vinnie and his crew have been working on our coach chassis exclusively. I'm looking forward to being a long term customer.

I was referred to this shop for a repair for my F250 and I called 3 weeks ago for a quote. I called on a Thursday and was told I’d have a response by the following Monday , no response was ever given. I called mid last week for an update and spoke to Ryan and told him what was going on and that I spoke to his counterpart, he seemed kind and said he would speak to his counterpart and call me back with an update. I never received a call back so I followed up again today and spoke to Ryan, who seemed he had no idea we had spoken before. From the other reviews I’m sure they do decent work, but the customer service I received is very upsetting. We are new to the area and I’d like to smog my truck for registration which was explained and this has now set it back 3 weeks since the smog relies on the repair.

After picking up our 2018 Tiffin Phaeton on a Freightliner chassis, we brought it straight to Vinnie. He performed a comprehensive inspection and presented us with a Red, Yellow, Green prioritized repair plan, which we truly appreciated. It took all the guesswork out of knowing what needed immediate attention versus what could be addressed down the road. That kind of transparency is rare and refreshing. Once our extended warranty kicks in, we'll be back to tackle the Yellow items on the list. OK, so let me start with this place has been an absolute lifesaver Vinny and Donita and all of their guys are extremely well mannered and some of the most honest people you can find this is the only place I take my Motorhome for all my services and needs. Definitely recommend using them as far as I’m concerned, best diesel shop in California prices are great as well!

I was so lucky to find this shop! My DEF Doser valve went out while picking up a trade show load in San Diego. My truck was beginning to derate and lose power and I would not have gotten far. My load had to deliver in five days in Atlanta and I did not have time for a breakdown. I stood to lose the load and any profits from it. I contacted California Coast and got directions there from Donita. Vinny (the owner of the business and factory trained Diesel technician), stayed late after the business closed to diagnose my truck. I was able to spend the night in my truck there at their business to wait for the parts store to open in the morning. The next morning after calling to verify the parts were available, the parts runner Ryan went to the nearest Cummins dealer to pickup the new Doser valve and gasket. Vinny and technician Brandon put my truck in the shop and removed the old Doser and gasket. When Ryan returned with the parts Vinny and Brandon immediately installed the new parts and put everything back together. Vinny hooked a laptop to the truck and ran a regen to complete the repair. I was repaired and ready to roll well before lunch break! I am a former Service writer and shop Forman at a commercial truck dealership in my hometown. I know what dealerships charge and I know how dealerships put you in line and do not care how long you sit there waiting. Dealerships are always more concerned with taking care on their local “larger” truck fleets that buy numerous trucks from their dealerships. Not the owner/operators. The crew at California Coast treated me like I was their number 1 priority. They knew the importance of my load needing to move and they took that very seriously. Vinny and his crew were extremely professional and very personable and kind at the same time. I’ve worked in trucking, in and around shops for 35 years and being treated as I was at California Coast is truly a rarity! There is no telling how many days I would have sat at a dealership and how much revenue I would have lost while being treated like an irrelevant number. The bill I paid for this repair was very reasonable. The service I received from California Coast was incredible. Priceless considering I was able to leave there and run a full 650 mile day towards my destination, losing basically NO time due to a breakdown. I highly recommend California Coast Truck Repair. Very attentive to detail and thorough in there work. Donita did an amazing job working with my warranty company to get them to cover a portion of my service. She also did a great job keeping me up to date on my vehicles status at the shop. Another awesome thing about this shop was the inspection they provided. It was super detailed, included pictures, and even found something that could have been a major issue later on. A very relaxed and low pressure environment. They are not there to make a quick buck or to try and upsell you. They are there to perform quality work and get you back on the road. We brought the RV in and they did an end-to-end inspection of the engine, steering, suspension, electrical, etc. with photos and advice on what was urgent vs. needed in the future. We talked with Vinnie several times and he was incredibly patient with our questions and gave well detailed answers. All work was completed on time, as promised and at a very fair price. The office manager (Donita) is a gem. We have a warranty and she facilitated coverage and helped us understand the warranty details and process. We asked them about upgrading the suspension and Vinnie provided several options. We chose a mid-range upgrade and after service was completed we took the RV on a 22 day, 2300 mile trip and everything worked great! The suspension upgrade made a HUGE difference on some rough roads (looking at you, I5 in Nor Cal ). Donita called a few weeks after our service to see how things were going, if we needed anything, etc. It was a nice personalized touch. We are relieved to have found a trustworthy local business to work with and highly recommend them!

My Rv was dead in the water at my house. finding a mobile diesel rv tech is not easy and is usually greedy in nature. these guys were prompt, incredibly kind and very honest about pricing and their services. The Rv was repaired quickly and the tech, Brandon, was super cool to deal with. They truly earned my business as long as I'm still in Calif. Their customer service is the best.

We bought a used Class A RV and the DEF pump failed - it happens, things will break on used vehicles! Most knowledgeable truck repair shop

Dealership had a 2 month wait for diesel service and was recommended to California Coast by a neighbor. They were able to get the truck in within a few days and preformed diagnostics. They identified the problem and provided an estimate. I had them do the work which fixed the problem and it was done on-time and for the exact amount of the estimate. I recommend them highly.
